A Survivors’ Support and Solidarity Forum (SSSF) was conducted at Taramangalam in Salem District on 19 August 2026 in which 55 (45 women and 10 men) participated.

The sessions included awareness on gender justice and legal rights, with lawyers explaining relevant legal provisions. The Gender Justice Kit covering the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence (PWDVA) Act, Dowry Prohibition Act, the Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH), Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Street Vendors Act, the SCs and STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and relevant helplines was distributed to participants.

Following the awareness sessions, there was peer sharing of experiences, and one-on-one consultations with the lawyers.

SSSFs provide a safe platform for women to understand their rights, share experiences, discuss challenges and explore available support mechanisms. It is to strengthen solidarity, increase legal awareness, and to provide socio-economic support for survivors and women across Tamil Nadu through regular district and state-level engagement.
