Two-Day State Level Training for Women Leaders from CSOs | Chennai 2025

The two-day state-level training brought together 31 women leaders representing 16 districts and 1 Union Territory, supported by 7 resource persons held on 24-25 November 2025 in Chennai. The workshop served as a dynamic platform to strengthen leadership, enhance organisational capacity, and foster solidarity among women-led initiatives. With a focus on justice, accountability, and resilience, participants engaged in interactive sessions, peer learning, and collective action planning.

Day 1 Highlights:
– Networking exercise: Human Chain of Solidarity
– Context setting: Evolution & impact of SWAN (Single Women Action Network)
– Reflection on challenges faced by women leaders (personal, organisational, societal)
– Solutions: peer learning circles, role delegation, leadership workshops, engaging men & communities
– Leadership frameworks: MIT (Decision-Making), ACT (Conflict Management), Decision Logs
– Volunteer engagement strategies
– Evening cultural sharing circle

Day 2 Highlights:
– Communication & fundraising strategies
– Donor mindset, storytelling, 30-second pitch
– Strengthening digital presence (websites, social media, annual reports)
– AI tools for NGOs (ChatGPT, Canva, etc.)
– Compliance & organisational governance
– Statutory compliance, governance structures, accountability practices
– Action planning & way forward
– Quarterly offline meetings
– Monthly online SWAN meetings
– Donor information template creation
– Knowledge sharing & federation proposal

Closing:
– Group photo & collective commitment
– Outcomes: inspired, technically strengthened, emotionally validated, deeply connected
– The workshop marked the beginning of a movement for equitable, accountable, and resilient women-led organisations across Tamil Nadu.
