SWAN conducted 18 Survivors’ Support and Solidarity Forums (SSF) and Awareness Meetings across 13 districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, reaching 580 participants, (560 women and 20 men).

The meetings provided a safe platform for survivors to understand their rights, share experiences, discuss challenges and explore available support mechanisms.

The sessions included awareness on gender justice and legal rights, with lawyers explaining relevant legal provisions. The Gender Justice Kit, covering the Domestic Violence Act and the SCs and STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, was distributed to participants.

Survivors participating in the forums were also provided opportunities for one-to-one discussions with lawyers to better understand legal provisions and available support.

The initiative aims to strengthen solidarity, legal awareness, documentation and socio-economic support for survivors and women across Tamil Nadu through regular district and state-level engagement.
