District Level Consultations on Strengthening Grama Sabha organized in 5 Districts are Kancheepuram, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Villupuram & Thiruvanamalai. Around 350 Grama Sabha member of different blocks and village panchayats participated in these meetings.  The participants include women and dalits.  The importance of Grama Sabha problems in convening the Grama Sabha and need to overcome them, recent judgements emphasizing the role of Grama Sabha etc., was discussed in these meetings.  The non action by the district administration on the resolutions sent from Grama Sabha is one of key issue shared in almost all these meetings.

Educational materials on powers of Grama Sabha were widely distributed. Finally, alternate agenda / resolutions to be passed in the upcoming GramaSabha meetings were discussed.
