One day training on the creation of a Gram Panchayat Development Plan was conducted on 26th March 2019 at Thiruvallur. The programme was attended by people from 27 panchayats under Poondi Block. Ex Panchayat heads and ward members attended the programme out of which 67 were women and 17 were men. 

Development of a nation should start at the lowest level which is the village level in India. The Central and State government has given various schemes and allocated funds to the panchayat to develop the village level. The purpose of this training was to make local leaders aware of the schemes and fund available for them and also help them understand the importance of developing a Gram Panchayat Development Plan to avail the allocated funds from the government. The Gram Panchayat Plan can be formulated in line with the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals.
