As part of the campaign in 2017, Tamil Nadu State Consultation on Monitoring the Implementation of PWDV Act was held on 6 December 2017.  Totally 50 participants including protection officers, service providers, counselors, NGOs and victims participated. In the Inaugural Session Chief Guest’s Address was delivered by Qudsia Gandhi, I.A.S., Former Chairperson & MD, (POWERFIN).  Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. I. Jayanthi,Senior Civil Judge & Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Chennai and Special Address was delivered by Malathy Helen, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department. PWDVA: Recommendations for better implementation in Tamil Nadu was explained by Adhilakshmi Logamurthy, Advocate/Secretary Women Lawyers Association and High Court of Madras. The participants including stake holders like protection officers, services providers, CSO’s and Survivors also shared their experience and challenges in the PWDVA act and discussed the strategies for better  implementation of PWDVA in Tamil Nadu.
